War
The devastating time of war is here
All the soldiers fire their guns.
The powerful bullets give heartbreaking injuries to lots of heroic men.

Being a stray dog is no pleasure. Living in a dump is as good as it gets for stray dogs, so in way I live a luxury life, considering the situation I’m in. I have a small family, we wouldn’t be able to feed too many of us. It’s just the two puppies and my wife. But even just feeding them is a challenge. Our dump is where cars come when they are beyond repair, so it’s good for shelter but not food. We have not eaten for weeks, and our stomachs are audibly growling and we are as lean as twigs. But it’s that time of the month, when I have to go and collect food for the family. But this means going to the park. The park is good for scavenging and even hunting but it’s over four kilometres away and across the precarious and busy highway.

I’ve been walking for about half an hour and I can hear the defining sound of cars as I approach the highway. The road seems busier than normal and this worries me for if I can’t get across we may not survive. The cars are flying by at incredible speeds and I am starting to panic, I can’t find a gap in the cars. I am running back and forth along the highway, the noise and the sheer pace of the cars were getting to my head and I am becoming confused.

I finally see a gap in the traffic and made a hurried dart towards it. I made it through the first lane but then I realised that I hadn’t actually thought about what I would do when I got past. I just ran blindly. I felt the ground shake beneath my feet and stopped. I turned and all I saw was two big lights racing towards me. I was frozen with fear and couldn’t make myself run, I just stood.

I was awakened by the feeling of a rough and wet tongue on my face. I tried to stand up but the pain in my legs was agonising. There was a dog with me. The dog told me that I had been hit by a truck and he had rescued me. I asked why but he had just said that he was a stray dog and I was a stray dog, and what would be the point of just letting me die. He had found me shoes and blankets to keep me warm and we snuggled up to keep each other cosy.

The next morning when we woke, I could walk. To me this was a miracle and I felt so grateful to my new friend. We were sitting thinking about what we should next, I have to go home but I don’t want to leave my friend and even if I did go home I would have no food. But then we saw a butterfly, and this made me feel happy. We decided to follow it, we travelled quite far when something caught my attention, and it was a truck. The trucks crate was open and in the mood we are in, we go and take a look. It was filled with dog food! The dog food was not in cans so we realised that we could open and eat it. We take as much as we can and run but as I run away I notice something on the front of the truck, there was a dent. This truck has almost killed him, but most definitely saved them. He and his friend decided to live together and went home to the family.
